Communications and Video Accessibility Act

The Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA) became law in 2010.  The CVAA updates federal communications law to increase the access of persons with disabilities to modern communications.  The CVAA ensures that accessibility laws enacted in the 1980s and 1990s are updated for 21st century technologies, including new digital, broadband, and mobile innovations. SkyLine/SkyBest complies with the CVAA and the required accessibility features for individuals who are blind or visually impaired are available upon request. If you are in need of these accessibility features, please stop by one of our customer center locations or call 1-800-759-2226 and ask for the Talking Guide solution. A SkyLine/SkyBest representative will work with you to schedule an appointment for a technician to come and install your Talking Guide enabled set top box.

Once the Talking Guide is enabled and as you navigate through the user interface, the set top box will “read” the text of the item selected. It will also inform the user of context switches and actions.
